Announcement#

In 2025, the E.U commission announced a 200 Billion budget to fund research and businesses in AI. Mis Von Der Leyen officially announced herself (just that!) at the February (AI) Action Summit in Paris.

The budget is intended to fund research and businesses via already existing E.U funding programmes, below.

Programmes#

• Horizon Europe with an overall EUR 93.5 billions to invest by 2027
• Digital Europe Programme with an overall budget of over €8.1 billion to spend by 2027.
• InvestEU

Horizon focuses on tackling climate change, supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and boosts the EU’s competitiveness and growth. Can read more on the scope and targets here.
